Wildflower Schools of California

Certified Elementary Teacher

Posted: January 3, 2019

Have you ever dreamed of opening your own Montessori school? Wildflower Schools of California is seeking an entrepreneurial, equity-minded, certified Elementary teacher to start and co-lead a small-scale school in Healdsburg, California in fall 2019.

About Wildflower Schools:
Wildflower schools are very small, authentic Montessori schools––typically serving about 20-30 students each. We are committed to equity and unite diverse communities of children, families and teachers in a shared pursuit of interconnectedness, justice and peace. While Wildflower Schools share values and principles, each school is unique––a reflection of life experiences, community orientation, and educational vision of the small team of teachers who lead it. Wildflower teacher-leaders have extraordinary autonomy to extend the prepared environment in any direction to serve the needs of families, children and educators.

How We Can Support You:
Wildflower aspires to be a mirror of the Montessori classroom in the adult world. We have a belief that adults, like children, are naturally peaceful, and curious, and good. And what is needed are structures and practices that give the freedom and support for the inherent goodness, peacefulness, and curiosity of the adults to blossom; in the way that the Montessori method does so for children.

With this vision in mind, Wildflower has developed the School Startup Journey to guide teacher leaders through the process of assessing their alignment with Wildflower’s values, norms and principles and their readiness to start and run a Wildflower school. Throughout their time leading a Wildflower School, teacher-leaders have access to a local support team, a help-desk and a nationwide network of entrepreneurial, like-minded colleagues, as well as customized software to support admissions, financial management, record keeping and more.
