Montessori School Primary Daycare Supervisor

Job Description:
One World Montessori School is a well-established traditional Montessori environment in the South San Jose area. We are currently seeking a Daycare Supervisor for our Primary program (ages 2 – 6 years).

Hours are 11:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday – Friday.

Qualified candidates MUST:

  • have a minimum of 12 core ECE units
  • have a minimum of one year of experience working with children or in a child care center
  • have a warm and loving personality
  • have excellent communication skills
  • have fingerprint clearance, health screening, required immunizations, and clear TB test
  • have a positive problem solving mentality
  • meet licensing requirement to be able to be within sight and sound of children at all times
  • be willing to assume leadership of our daycare program

Preferred candidates will have at least a Site Supervisor Child Development Permit in addition to 12 ECE units, and previous experience in a Montessori environment.

Job duties will include:

  • preparing and managing the daycare and nap room environments
  • developing enrichment activities for children in the daycare program
  • participation in all staff meetings and school events
  • observing children in their daily routine and guiding when needed with a positive approach
  • maintaining positive interactions with children, parents, and coworkers
  • maintaining an approved recordkeeping system for all students in their care
  • supervising children and attending to their physical and emotional safety
  • ensuring the campus is appropriately secured at the end of the day
